Juliet Johnston School

Further to our earlier update on the Help Tafo Trust where books were sent to the Juliet Johnston School in Ghana and a thank you letter from Juliet Gladys Osafo was received.  The school has always had a big drive on improving reading but this always proved difficult because they were so short of books. Juliet Johnston School was only established in 2003 in a very poor area of Ghana but they are very proud that already twenty of their former pupils have gone to university. We thought it would be good to show you the letter in full that was sent to our chairman, Vinay Ruparella, so that it can be fully appreciated how welcome these books are:

Dear Vinay,

On behalf of the staff and children of the Juliet Johnston School, I, Juliet Gladys Osafo, the Ghana Director of the school write to thank you so warmly organising all the fantastic books for us.

The books have made such an enormous difference in our lives.

The books have really created reading enjoyment in the children to the extent that they are competing with each other as to who would read many books in the month. It has created reading enthusiasm in both teachers and children.

We thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.

We wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year.

I sign off with much gratitude and warm regards.

 Yours faithfully,

Juliet Gladys Osafo
