New Deer Church came to Books Abroad to select and pack books into Banana boxes . These were then loaded into a van and transported down to Dundee for inclusion into a container shipment to Malawi. New Deer Church have being working on a joint project with M’buka CCAP Primary School in Lilongwe, Malawi.
These were gratefully received as the extract of a letter received by New Deer Church shows:
I am writing with joy and gratitude as we are today celebrating the arrival and handover of the donations to Mbuka CCAP, from our partner church in Scotland. It was a great ceremony which was officiated by our dear pastor Rev DF Zembeni. The school pupils were full of joy. Teachers were very happy as they received the books. The gift will change the education standard in our school. We thank you all for such a gift of books and knitted clothes. The ceremony took place today at the school campus. We will have another ceremony on Sunday during the two services of holy communion.
