Books Abroad received a lovely letter from Juliet Gladys Osafo, Director of the Juliet Johnson School Complex, Ghana thanking us for the excellent books we had sent. She said that the books had made an excellent difference to the lives of the children especially those who had not had much to read.
We have had a wide range of successful fund raising events this year. There have been pop up shops in Banff, Buckie, Portsoy and Huntly and of course we now have a second-hand bookshop at 47 High Street, Banff. We also had book stalls at places such as Tarland Plant Sale, Craigievar Hall, Huntly Hairst and Alford. Particularly noteworthy this year was the Chair Art at
We have recently opened a second-hand book shop at 47 High Street, Banff AB45 1AN. Usual opening hours 10 am to 4 pm Mon to Sat. We have a wide range of books stocked and Gary, our trustee, is happy to try and source any books you may need. Also, a box or two can be dropped off for transporting over to Rhynie.
Thanks to those volunteers who organised our fundraiser at the Tarland Plant Sale on Saturday 19th May - in line with the theme of the event, we made sure we had a good selection of gardening and cookery books for sale at our stall - well done to all concerned!
