As mentioned in our last newsletter we said that the Sri Lankan delivery was being delivered to various schools and organisations. We have now received a thank you letter from one of these organisations: Uduvil Public Library. It has taken a lot of time and effort but finally, our shipment to SriLanka, which arrived in December, has been distributed to various schools and organisations in the country. As usual, the recipients are very grateful for the donations and hope that we can send more in the future.
Our container for Sri Lanka arrived there safely on December 26th. We will provide more details on this later.
Here is an update on what has been happening recently and some of our upcoming plans. We will give you more detailed news on these shipments at a later date. Our Sri Lankan container is due to arrive in Colombo at Christmas after delays at Rotterdam and our Zimbabwe container is due to arrive in late January 2021. We are pleased to announce that at long last our shipment of books for Sri Lanka is on its way. We had it ready for dispatch in early 2020 but local elections in Sri Lanka and then the onset of Covid-19 delayed the shipment. Various sizes of pallets had to be used this time which caused a lot of extra work for our volunteers but they
We are still waiting for confirmation that some of the schools have received their Sierra Leone books which arrived before Christmas. We will update you when we hear.
