We had a successful fundraising and awareness raising morning at the Farmers Market in Huntly Square on Saturday 5th May – thanks to volunteers Lorna, Michael and Mary. Although our stall was not in a prime position, the good weather brought people out in droves (it was however quite windy and we had to take it in turns to be on “holding the gazebo down in case it blew away” duty!) and we attracted lots of passers by who bought a wide range of the books we had brought along and took part in our bottle stall fundraiser. We also took the opportunity to tell people about the work of Books Abroad – though we were pleasantly surprised that many already knew of us, and indeed one or two had been involved in the group in its very early days!

Our stall at the May 2019 Farmers Market has already been booked – watch this space …..
