The Chandi Parivar Charitable Trust in Kenya has a school for the blind and they desperately need a thermal embosser. As we will be supporting the Trusts other schools with donations of books it would be great if we could provide the blind school with this much needed piece of equipment. If anyone could donate a new or secondhand one please contact the office on 01464 861446. As we will be visiting the school in October we would be able to get some publicity photos for any potential donor.

We were delighted to welcome Pam Chandi to Rhynie last week. As a Trustee of the Chandi Parivar Charitable Trust, Pam was over to help us select books for the schools she supports in Mombasa. http://cpctrust.org

She certainly proved to be an inspirational lady who helped to reinvigorate the enthusiasm of all the volunteers who met her !

Starting at 11.45pm on Sunday 19^th July 2009, the chair  on which J K Rowling sat while writing her first two Harry Potter books is to be auctioned on eBay, finishing one week later.

20% from the sale of the chair will be donated to Books Abroad.

Many thanks to all of you that participated in the Give a Pound scheme run by Missionfish on Ebay. Over 10,000 people donated a pound which gave us a huge boost to this years fundraising.
